[02-23-2025] Boy Killed by Hit-And-Run Driver While Riding Pocket Bike on San Pedro Street in South LAA boy was killed while riding a pocket bike after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle on San Pedro Street in South Los Angeles, early Sunday morning, February 23, 2025.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. near the intersection of San Pedro and 99th Streets.

The boy was traveling northbound on San Pedro Street when he was hit by a dark-colored Toyota Corolla, also heading northbound.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the approximate age of the victim.

After the collision, the driver of the Toyota Corolla exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a heavy-set man in his 20s. No further details were immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are seeking public assistance.
