According to officials, a three-vehicle crash killed one man and injured another near Chinatown in downtown Los Angeles early Friday morning, February 25.
The fatal multi-vehicle crash occurred around 2:00 a.m. at the northbound 110 Freeway near Chinatown in downtown Los Angeles.
California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to 110 Freeway and Stadium Way.
Officers arrived on the scene to find a three-vehicle collision, and one of the vehicles had been mangled and overturned.
According to authorities, one of the vehicles collided with a guardrail before colliding with a metal post.
Attempts were made by firefighters to free a man believed to be a passenger from the vehicle. The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
For the investigation, traffic was shut down for three hours, and authorities believe speed may have played a role in the accident.
The victim’s identity has not been revealed. There are no other details available. The crash remains under investigation.
