An unidentified 65-year-old man was killed after a deadly bicycle crash in Solana Beach on Saturday afternoon, February 26, 2022.

The victim was riding an electric bike on the roadway when he attempted to overtake another cyclist and fell onto the roadway.

The victim was then struck by a passing Dodge truck. The Dodge driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with the authorities.

The victim was taken to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, but he was later pronounced dead while undergoing treatment.

Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the crash. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
