Two-Vehicle Crash Statistics

Every minute in the United States, there is a car accident. There are thousands of fatalities every year due to automobile accidents. 2018 saw a total of 33,654 fatal car accidents, which resulted in 36,560 deaths, according to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS).

When the front ends of two vehicles collide, that is what is known as a head-on collision. The majority of these collisions occur at intersections with stop signs, traffic lights, in the dark, and on freeways.

Sadly, head-on collisions are fatal for many people. Although only 2% of accidents result in a head-on collision, this type of crash is responsible for 10% of all deaths on U.S. roads.

As a result of drivers ignoring traffic laws and signals like red lights, stop signs, or yield signs, head-on collisions occur.
