[02-28-2022] San Luis Obispo County, CA - One Person Killed, Several People Injured Following a Collision in Morro BayAn unidentified woman was killed while several others were injured following a major traffic collision in Morro Bay on Saturday evening, February 27, 2022.

The collision occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. on the northbound side of Highway 1 in Morro Bay.

A Honda CRV driven by 71-year-old John Ruxton C. was heading northbound on Highway 1 when he stopped to turn left onto San Luisito Creek Road.

The Honda CRV was then struck by a southbound Kia Optima driven by 50-year-old Paul Daniel G.

All the people involved in the collision, including the two drivers, were rushed to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Unfortunately, a female passenger inside the Honda CRV succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. Her identity has not been disclosed.

An active investigation of the collision is currently underway.
