[03-01-2022] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Accident in Oceanside Injures One

An unidentified 68-year-old man was injured after getting struck by a drunk driver in Oceanside on Tuesday morning, March 1st, 2022.

The driver accelerated and collided with a pedestrian before sliding over stones on the road. The truck eventually came to rest in the ocean, where waves were crashing.

The 68-year-old man sustained unspecified injuries in the mishap and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

The truck driver that struck the victim was later arrested and was booked into the Vista jail on DUI charges. His bail was set at $100,000.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
