The circumstances are still unclear, but the collision between the Tesla and a truck for a solar company caused both to catch on fire. The blaze was extinguished by the Sacramento and West Sacramento West Fire, but after the Tesla was burned down to its frame.

The number of people involved is unknown, but one individual sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. No further updates on their current condition were available, and whether the person was in the truck or the Tesla was not immediately apparent.

The whole event prompted the closure of the highway for roughly 90 minutes during the morning commute before all lanes were reopened by 9:00 a.m.
