[03-02-2022] Alameda County, CA – One Motorcyclist Killed in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Involving Big Rig in Tri-Valley

A California Highway Patrol spokesman said that an unidentified motorcycle rider is dead following a crash involving a big-rig and possibly another vehicle on westbound Interstate 580 in Pleasanton Wednesday morning, March 2, 2022.

The collision occurred around 7:50 a.m. just west of Hopyard Road, CHP spokesman Officer Tyler Hahn said.

A Sig-alert was issued, and the left two lanes are blocked on westbound I-580. The CHP does not have an estimate for when the lanes will reopen.

CHP officials suggest using I-680 or state Highway 84 as alternate routes.

There are no other details available. The crash remains under investigation.
