A Chico woman was hospitalized with serious injuries following a head-on collision on South Avenue at Kirkwood Road in Tehama County, on Monday afternoon, March 3, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. when an eastbound Dodge Ram pickup slowed to turn onto Kirkwood Road, directly into the path of a westbound Toyota Corolla. The two vehicles collided head-on, blocking both lanes of traffic.
The driver of the Dodge, a Corning man, was reportedly uninjured. However, the Toyota driver, a woman from Chico, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities stated that drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
