A three-vehicle collision on the 110 Freeway killed one person and injured another early Friday morning, March 4, 2022.

According to authorities, three vehicles collided in the area for an unknown reason.

As a result, one of the vehicles was mangled and overturned.

According to the California Highway Patrol, one of the vehicles collided with a guardrail before colliding with a metal post.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and attempted to extricate a man believed to be a passenger from the vehicle. The passenger died at the scene despite life-saving efforts.

Meanwhile, the driver was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries.

Due to clearing and preliminary duties, the area was shut down for a few hours after the crash.

Officials suspected that speed was a factor in the crash at the time.

There are no other details available.

The crash remains under investigation.
