A mother and her son were injured after getting hit by a vehicle at an intersection in Santa Maria on Friday afternoon, March 4, 2022.

The woman and her 10-year-old son were crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when a passing vehicle suddenly struck them.

The 47-year-old woman and her son were rushed to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment. Their condition and their identities have not been disclosed.

The involved driver remained at the scene and willingly cooperated with authorities. He was uninjured in the mishap.

The Santa Maria Police Department is further investigating the crash.
