[03-05-2022] Police Officer Injured After High-Speed Chase near Cartmill Avenue Ends in Car CrashA police officer was seriously hurt after a high-speed chase in Lindsay ended in a car crash on Saturday night, March 5, 2022.

The accident happened on Highway 99 near Cartmill Avenue in Lindsay at approximately 7:00 p.m.

A Tulare officer reportedly pulled over a vehicle that had been reported stolen, but the driver drove away eastbound.

The suspect was driving at high speeds and running stop signs. The police chase continued into Lindsay; the suspect failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into one of the officer’s police cars.

A police officer inside the vehicle sustained serious injuries in the mishap and was immediately hospitalized.

Officers were then able to catch the suspect. The suspect and her passenger were taken to an area hospital before getting booked into Tulare County Jail.

The suspect was arrested for reckless evading, evading an officer and causing injury, driving under the influence, and possession of methamphetamine.

The case is currently under further investigation.
