[03-06-2022] Butte County, CA – Hit-and-Run Crash in Chico Seriously Injures One

One unidentified person was injured following a hit-and-run crash in Chico on early Sunday morning, March 6, 2022.

According to the initial reports from local authorities, the accident happened at approximately 12:39 a.m. at 3500 Esplanade Road in Chico.

A person riding a mope was struck by a pickup truck for unclear reasons. The pickup truck driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.

The moped rider sustained major injuries in the crash. He was rushed to an area hospital to receive treatment. The victim was identified as 22-year-old Terry N. Jr.

Authorities then apprehended the pickup truck driver. He was identified as 24-year-old Chase J. he was arrested for hit-and-run and DUI-related charges.
