A woman in her 60s was fatally struck by a vehicle in Escondido late Saturday evening, March 8, 2025.
According to the Escondido Police Department, officers responded to the 1100 block of East Washington Avenue just before midnight and found the pedestrian lying in the roadway after being hit.
Emergency responders performed CPR on the victim before transporting her to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No arrests have been made.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
