The California Highway Patrol reported that traffic into Temecula was at a standstill after a truck collided and injured a motorcyclist Wednesday morning, March 9, 2022.

Cal Fire Riverside County Firefighters arrived on the scene, but no word on the motorcyclist’s condition as of 7:30 a.m.

According to witnesses, a black Chevy Tahoe made an unsafe lane change and collided with a motorcyclist who was killed on the road.

According to reports, a silver Scion then struck the downed rider. That car’s driver came to a complete stop in the center divider and awaited officials.

As of 8:00 a.m., southbound traffic through the Temecula Parkway/79 south exit was still slow due to the I-215 traffic jam.

During the incident, commuters clogged surface streets as they tried to avoid the I-15 traffic, causing heavy congestion in the area.

Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
