[03-10-2022] Riverside County, CA – Pedestrian Critically Injured in Suspected DUI Crash in Beaumont

One unidentified person was killed in Beaumont by 42-year-old Christopher A. in a suspected DUI accident on Thursday, March 10, 2022.

According to the department, Aunchman fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by police officers a few blocks away from the accident.

Aunchman of Banning is being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury/death, DUI with bodily injury, and DUI with injury, all felonies.

Dutchman still remains in jail Tuesday night, March 15.

He was being held without being able to post bail. It took a while for court records to become available.

According to the department, when officers caught up with him, he showed signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The pedestrian was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

There is still no update on the victim’s condition as of the moment.
