[03-10-2022] Multiple Caltrain Employees and Passengers Injured in Crash with Truck in San BrunoCaltrain was involved in a fiery crash with a truck in San Bruno on Thursday, March 10.

The train accident occurred at 10:38 a.m. near San Felipe and Huntington Avenue.

The southbound train 506 left San Francisco at 10:14 a.m. and struck on-track equipment shortly after 10:38 a.m.

According to San Bruno Fire Chief Ari Delay, there was one serious injury, five moderate injuries, and seven minor injuries among Caltrain employees and passengers.

Eleven of the thirteen people injured were passengers. Four of them were taken to the hospital.

The rest of the people were treated on the spot.

The exact number of passengers on the train is unknown.

Trains will run every hour until the scene is completely cleared.

This investigation will be conducted by Caltrain, the National Transportation Safety Board, San Bruno fire, and the transit police.

Firefighters have reportedly extinguished the fire.

Caltrain service is not expected to be fully restored anytime soon.
