[03-14-2022] Madera County, CA – One Person Killed After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 41

An unidentified 24-year-old man was killed following a deadly traffic crash on Monday afternoon, March 14, 2022.

[03-14-2022] Madera County, CA - One Person Killed After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 41According to the initial reports from the Merced Communication Center, the fatal collision happened on State Route 41, just north of Road 406, at around 12:30 p.m.

A southbound 2002 Toyota Tacoma was initially traveling on SR-41 when he approached a slight right curve in the roadway.

Meanwhile, a northbound 2016 Nissan Altima was also traveling on SR-41 at 55 mph. As the 2016 Nissan Altima approached the Toyota, the Toyota made an unsafe turn causing his vehicle to go off the west roadway.

The Toyota collided with a dirt/rock embankment and flipped onto its driver’s side. The Toyota continued south, while the Nissan spun clockwise and crossed into the northbound lane of SR-41, directly into the path of the Toyota.

The Nissan driver engaged the brakes but could not avert the collision, and the front of the Nissan collided with the Toyota’s roof.

The Toyota driver was killed in the mishap. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the accident.
