[03-16-2020] Forest Park, Ca – Older Woman Dead After a Multi-Vehicle Crash

A 62-year-old woman identified as Beverly Harrison was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Forest Park, California, on March 16.

According to the initial reports, the accident occurred at around 3:00 p.m. The 62-year-old woman was reportedly driving southbound on Des Plaines when all of a sudden, a vehicle heading northbound traveling at a high-speed inevitably hit another car. The car heading northbound lost control and eventually hit the elderly lady’s vehicle.

Officers received information about a burning vehicle in the 1400 block of Des Plaines Avenue. When the police arrived in the area, they discovered the wreckage from the three-vehicle crash.

The older woman’s car caught on fire, and the officers attempted to extinguish the flames while the other motorists were helping the elderly lady with her injuries.

The woman and the driver of the northbound vehicle were rushed to the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Sadly, she was pronounced dead in the hospital. The driver of the northbound vehicle suffered from no significant injuries.

Fatal Accident Investigation Needed

Local authorities are currently investigating the case and are attempting to determine the factors that caused the multi-vehicle crash. But authorities consider alcohol to be a factor in the crash.

It is evident, in this case, that the liability falls on the northbound driver for driving a high-speed. Excessive speeding is dangerous as it not only causes accidents but can also potentially kill someone.

A variety of factors causes fatal car accidents like this. Such as excessive speed, reckless driving, impairment, and distracted driving.

When facing cases like this, it’s vital to have an experienced California wrongful death attorney specializing in fatal car accident cases to conduct an independent investigation to preserve the evidence better immediately.

Attorneys can utilize their resources to interview expert witnesses, conduct defendant background checks, and review applicable insurance coverage. Going through these procedures is necessary to help the victim’s family to receive the justice that they deserve.
