[03-16-2022] Alameda County, CA – Fatal Train Crash on BART Tracks Results in One Death on Dublin/Pleasanton Line

According to the agency, a BART train struck and killed a person on tracks between the West Dublin/Pleasanton and Dublin/Pleasanton stations, shutting down service between them early Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Officials from BART confirmed the death. The Dublin-Pleasanton station was closed following the collision, but officials reopened it around 8:30 a.m.

Duckworth reported the person was on the trackway.

The authorities have not yet identified the person on Wednesday.

Police and medical personnel were on the scene for several hours.

BART used a bus bridge to transport stranded passengers due to the track closure.

There are no other details available. The accident remains under investigation.
