According to the initial reports from local authorities, the crash took place on South Main Street and Plaza Circle.

An unspecified vehicle crashed into the bicycle rider under unclear circumstances. How the accident occurred and why it happened have not been established.

The bicycle rider was rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries later pronounced dead.
