An unidentified 71-year-old woman in a wheelchair was killed following a deadly pedestrian crash in Palm Springs on Thursday evening, March 17, 2022.

[03-17-2022] Riverside County, CA - Elderly Woman Killed After a Deadly Pedestrian Crash in Palm SpringsThe fatal accident transpired at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Palm Canyon Drive and Camino Parocela Drive.

The 71-year-old woman was crossing the intersection in her wheelchair when suddenly struck by a passing vehicle. The involved driver remained at the scene and willingly cooperated with authorities.

The unidentified woman was seriously injured in the crash and was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed. Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the crash.
