[03-17-2023] Vehicle Struck 16-year-old Bicyclist in Bakersfield, Victim HospitalizedA 16-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Friday evening, March 17, 2023.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the collision happened around 7:02 p.m. between Ming Avenue and El Portal Drive.

BPD reported that the bicyclist was moving west on Ming Avenue when it was struck by a car driver who was unaware of the victim.

The victim suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The car driver remained and cooperated with the authorities’ investigation.
