What To Do After a Car Accident in North Hills

Being a client-focused law firm means putting our clients and everyone else first rather than ourselves. We do not choose who to help; we assist any accident victim who is in need of legal advice, whether they opt to partner with us or work with other law offices.

Our dedicated legal team has developed a list of ten tips on what to do following a car incident. Keep this advice handy and share it with your loved ones to protect your rights and keep you safe.

  1. Go to a Safe Location – Calmly get out of your vehicle and stay away from passing vehicles. Preferably, proceed to the roadside to avoid further injury.
  2. Call 911 – Clearly describing your injury status can help the emergency response team prepare their equipment and treatment approach properly.
  3. Apply First Aid – It will take some time before the rescue team gets to the accident site. Time is running out fast, and even a bleeding wound could cost you your life. Putting pressure on the wound could buy the EMT some time before they can give the appropriate first aid.
  4. Cooperate With the Police – Additionally, the North Hills police will be at the location. Make sure you provide them with all the accurate details without admitting guilt. Simply apologizing could work against you because it implies that you did something.
  5. Document the Scenario – Take photos of your injuries, property damages, and the accident scene if you can move.
  6. Look for Eyewitnesses – Their statements will serve as evidence and will support your statement. Ask for their contact information and permission to testify.
  7. Get the Other Party’s Information – Ask for their names, addresses, phone numbers, and insurance company. If possible, take photos of each.
  8. Contact Your Insurance Company – Even if you are the victim, it is best to call your insurer and inform them about the incident so they can prepare the necessary documents for your claim.
  9. Seek Further Medical Care – Consult a doctor immediately. A thorough medical assessment could reveal any other possible injuries from the incident and would keep you from any health complications.
  10. Call Arash Law – Our accident attorneys in North Hills will keep you from sharing any sensitive information with the other party that may jeopardize your claim.
