[03-18-2023] Palmdale Single-Vehicle Crash Killed One, Left Another with Possible InjuriesOne person was killed while another survived with possible injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Palmdale on Saturday morning, March 18, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred at about 2:21 a.m. on the southbound 14 Freeway north of the 10th Street West exit.

The circumstances that led to the vehicle overturning at the side of the roadway remain unknown. Two occupants were reported in the crash. One was able to extricate himself while the other was trapped.

The responding firefighters rescued the trapped person, but he was declared dead at the site. It remains unclear whether the surviving occupants sustained any injuries. No further details were released on who was the driver.

No other information is immediately available as the investigation continues. Investigators are still figuring out whether speeding or intoxication played a role.
