Two people, including a 16-year-old boy, were killed after a traffic crash involving multiple vehicles in Watsonville on Saturday night, March 19, 2022.

[03-19-2022] Santa Cruz County, CA - Fatal Three-Vehicle Collision in Watsonville Results in Two DeathsThe accident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the area of Green Valley Road and Pennsylvania Drive.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 2016 Nissan was speeding on Green Valley Road when it ran a red light and collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck turning left into Pennsylvania Drive.

The pickup collided with a Honda that was stopped on Green Valley Road due to the collision.

The 20-year-old Nissan driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old passenger was rushed to an area hospital but was later pronounced dead.

A second passenger in that car, a 20-year-old man, was transferred to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover totally.

The pickup driver was brought to the hospital with minor injuries, but the Honda driver was unharmed.
