[03-20-2023] One Person Injured in Two-Vehicle Hit-and-Run Crash on Forbestown RoadOne person was seriously injured following a two-vehicle hit-and-run collision in Butte County on Monday evening, March 20, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol Oroville, the crash occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Forbestown Road east of Old Olive Highway.

A 2005 Saturn was reportedly traveling west at high speed when it veered over the double yellow line for reasons still under investigation and entered the eastbound traffic.

An eastbound Dodge pickup tried to maneuver out of the Saturn’s way but was struck before overturning. The driver sustained major injuries and required extrication from the wreckage.

The Saturn’s two occupants fled the scene. CHP officers successfully captured the passenger but the driver is still at large.
