[03-20-2023] Vehicle Struck and Injured Two Pedestrians in San JoseA 12-year-old pedestrian got struck by a vehicle in Freedom, Santa Cruz County, on Monday morning, March 20, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:58 a.m. on Buena Vista Drive at Miller Avenue.

The 12-year-old girl was walking on a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her. The victim was left with severe injuries and had to be rushed to a local hospital.

The vehicle’s driver was identified as Maria L., a 40-year-old from Freedom.

Neither drugs nor alcohol played a part in the accident, but investigations are currently underway.
