[03-20-2023] Rollover Crash Involving DUI Driver Sent Juvenile to Hospital in Shasta LakeA juvenile was sent to the hospital following a rollover crash caused by a DUI driver in Shasta Lake on Monday afternoon, March 20, 2023.

According to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, the single-vehicle crash occurred at about 2:19 p.m. in the area of Fort Peck Street and Ashby Road.

Deputies and emergency personnel arrived on the scene and discovered an overturned, side-by-side UTV-styled vehicle. Inside were two occupants.

The 32-year-old driver, Ashton S., reportedly showed signs of alcohol intoxication. The unidentified juvenile passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

After being medically cleared, the driver was detained and booked into the Shasta County Jail. She faces charges of DUI causing great bodily injury and child endangerment.
