[03-21-2022] Monterey County, CA – Four People Injured After a Big Rig Crash in Salinas

Four people were hurt following a major big rig collision in Salinas on Monday morning, March 21, 2022.

The accident happened at around 8:00 a.m. on the Northbound side of Highway 101 between Chula and Salinas.

A semi-truck made an illegal U-turn which caused it to cut off a sedan. The sedan then rear-ended the truck and got lodged underneath the trailer.

The sedan had four passengers inside, including three children. Four people were injured in the mishap.

The three children had to be airlifted to an area hospital while their mother was taken to a hospital in Salinas via ground ambulance.

It’s unclear whether intoxication played a role in the mishap. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
