[03-21-2023] One Person Killed, Another Injured in Cajon Pass Two-Vehicle CollisionOne person was killed after being ejected in a two-vehicle head-on collision in San Bernardino County on Tuesday morning, March 21, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the fatal crash occurred at 8:07 a.m. along State Route 138, roughly one mile from Lone Pine Canyon Road in the Cajon Pass.

What led to the collision is currently being investigated, but it involved a gray Dodge Ram and a white Chevy Silverado that collided head-on. The impact resulted in one person being thrown out of their vehicle.

Responders from San Bernardino County Fire declared the ejected man found in the roadway dead at the scene. The white truck’s female driver sustained unspecified injuries and was taken by ground ambulance in an unknown condition.

The highway in both directions was closed temporarily for the investigation. The westbound lane was later reopened while the eastbound lane stayed closed.

CHP officials are looking further into the crash. No names have been released yet until the next of kin is notified.
