[03-22-2023] 24-Year-Old Passenger Killed in Solo Rollover Crash on I-15A 24-year-old male passenger was killed following a single-vehicle rollover crash in San Diego County on Wednesday morning, March 22, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. on southbound Interstate 15, just north of Gopher Canyon Road.

A grey GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by a 48-year-old man was traveling south on the freeway when it veered off the road for unknown reasons and overturned.

Its 24-year-old passenger from Moreno Valley was declared dead at the scene, while the driver did not report any wounds. No further details on their identities were made public at this point.

As the investigation continues, it does not appear that alcohol or drugs played a role in the fatal crash. It remains unclear why the vehicle veered off the roadway.
