[03-23-2022] Fresno County, CA – Pedestrian Working on Road Injured After Getting Struck in Near Palm Avenue

According to police, a car struck a pedestrian in central Fresno, injuring him on Wednesday, March 23.

According to police, the accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Shields near Palm Avenue.

The worker was setting up traffic control signs when a man driving a small sedan crashed into a construction truck and its trailer.

The pedestrian was also struck by the car and taken to Community Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, possibly a broken bone, according to police.

Traffic was slowed in the area as the eastbound side of Shields was reduced to a single lane.

There are no other details available.

The crash remains under investigation.
