[03-24-2022] Sacramento County, CA – 25-Year-Old Woman Killed in Fatal Crash on Highway 50

Traffic was snarled along Highway 50 after a fatal crash that killed a 25-year-old woman in Sacramento early Thursday morning, March 24, 2022.

The collision occurred shortly after 4:00 a.m. near the 59th Street exit on the eastbound side of the freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the Sacramento woman crashed into water-filled attenuators at the 59th Street offramp. Her car flipped over as a result of this.

A 56-year-old woman driving an SUV crashed into the already-wrecked car a few minutes later.

Officers say the 25-year-old woman died at the scene.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified her as Folsom resident Isabelle C. The SUV driver was only slightly hurt.

For a period of time, all lanes of US-50 at 59th Street were closed.

One lane was cleared before all lanes were reopened around 7:30 a.m.
