[03-24-2023] Head-On Crash Involving Bus in Ramona Killed 56-Year-Old DriverA 56-year-old driver was killed after a two-vehicle crash in San Diego County on Friday afternoon, March 24, 2023.

The deadly collision reportedly occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Mussey Grade Road near Foster Truck Trail.

According to authorities, a man was driving a Chevrolet 2500 when he lost control of his vehicle while taking a left turn and entered the northbound lane. The truck swerved into the path of an approaching school bus carrying two children southbound, crashing head-on.

The truck went partially up a small dirt embankment before returning eastbound across both lanes of Mussey Grade Road. The Driver was trapped inside the car when it came to a halt.

Paramedics were called to the scene and airlifted the pickup driver to Palomar Hospital in Escondido, where he died.

Meanwhile, the 48-year-old bus driver was also taken to Palomar Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The two children were unharmed.

Investigators were unsure whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
