[03-26-2023] Driver Killed After Car Went Off Bridge near Boyle HeightsA two-vehicle collision that caused one car to fall led to one driver’s death in Los Angeles early Sunday morning, March 26, 2023.

The deadly crash reportedly occurred around 1:20 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway at Whittier Blvd.

According to authorities, two vehicles collided on the roadway above the 5 Freeway; one was thrown from the bridge onto the freeway below, where it landed on its roof.

When responders arrived, they discovered a dark-colored BMW coupe where the driver was trapped and died at the scene. It remains unclear if there were any additional injuries.

There was a brief closure of the 5 Freeway southbound on Sunday morning during the crash investigation and cleanup efforts.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
