[03-27-2022] Kern County, CA – One Person Killed, Another Seriously Injured in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on South Lake Road

Emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal accident that resulted in one death and two injuries on South Lake Road east of Gardner Field on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

The crash was reported at about 12:20 p.m. on South Lake, about 3 miles east of Gardner Field Road.

The California Highway Patrol, Kern County Fire Department, and Hall Ambulance are on the scene.

The Honda SUV and the Chevy pickup truck were involved in the head-on collision, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.

One death, one major injury, and one moderate injury were reported as a result of the crash.

According to the CHP website, South Lake Road is closed in both directions.

There are no other details available.

The crash remains under investigation.
