The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal head-on collision in Madera County on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

[03-27-2022] Madera County, CA - 89-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal Head-On Crash Near Firebaugh BoulevardThe fatal crash occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Sunday on Avenue 7 1/2, west of Firebaugh Boulevard.

According to CHP officers, an 89-year-old man was driving west on Avenue 7 1/2 when his truck drifted into the opposite lane.

A woman driving a Toyota Venza on the other side of the road swerved to avoid the truck, and her car spun off the road.

The man’s truck collided head-on with a Toyota Sequoia heading east at that point.

The 89-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota Sequoia was taken to Madera Hospital for treatment after suffering minor injuries in the collision.

The driver of the Toyota Venza was unharmed.

The CHP officers are still investigating the crash.

They claim that drugs or alcohol aren’t a factor.
