[03-27-2022] San Diego County, CA – One Person Injured After a Bicycle Crash in Normal Heights

One unidentified person was seriously hurt following a bicycle crash in Normal Heights on Sunday afternoon, March 27, 2022.

[03-27-2022] San Diego County, CA - One Person Injured After a Bicycle Crash in Normal HeightsThe accident transpired at approximately 4:43 p.m. in the 3400 block of North Mountain View Drive in Normal Heights.

A westbound black Honda Civic was traveling on North Mountain View Driver when it crashed into the curb and veered off the road before colliding with a 61-year-old bicyclist.

The bicycle rider sustained major injuries in the crash. The rider was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Authorities determined that he was under the influence at the time of the crash. The driver was arrested on DUI-related charges.

The San Diego Police Department is further investigating the cause of the crash.
