[03-27-2022] Tulare County, CA – 58-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal Head-On Crash on West Henderson

The Porterville Police said 58-year-old Todd A., who was allegedly driving in the wrong direction, died in a collision on Sunday night, March 27, 2022.

[03-27-2022] Tulare County, CA - 58-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal Head-On Crash on West HendersonThe Porterville Police officers responded to a head-on traffic collision around 7:20 p.m. in the 1700 Block of West Henderson Avenue.

The driver of one of the involved vehicles, later identified as Akin, was found unresponsive at the crash scene.

Officers tried to save Akin’s life until Emergency Medical Technicians arrived and relieved them. Akin was taken to a local hospital and died there.

A 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both passengers in a separate vehicle involved in the accident, were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to evidence found at the scene, Akin was traveling the wrong way on Henderson Avenue at the time of the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.

According to Porterville Police, it was unknown whether drugs, alcohol, or prescription medication played a role in the collision as of Monday afternoon.
