A 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and killing a bicyclist on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

[03-27-2022] Yuba County, CA - One Man Killed in Fatal Bicycle Accident Involving Suspected DUI Driver in OlivehurstAccording to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on George Avenue.

The 36-year-old Olivehurst man was riding his bike south on George Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

According to CHP officials, the man was rear-ended by a 2019 Ford Fusion as he approached McGowan Parkway from the south.

According to the CHP, the man was taken to Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
His identity has not been disclosed.

Officials said the Fusion’s 21-year-old driver, Kaitlyn V., remained at the scene and was later arrested. She did not sustain any injuries.

Vansant, from Olivehurst, is now facing felony charges of second-degree murder and driving while intoxicated.
