[03-28-2022] San Bernardino County, CA – One Person Injured Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Fontana

According to the Fontana Police Department, a suspect fleeing from police in Fontana collided with a tractor-trailer in Rialto on Monday, March 28, 2022.

[03-28-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - One Person Injured Following Two-Vehicle Crash in FontanaThe police received reports on a Monday of a stolen Honda CRV in the area of Jurupa and Slover avenues in southern Fontana.

According to Fontana Police Public Information Officer Daniel Romero, officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

However, the officers did discover a black 2015 Ford F150 with stolen plates. Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the F150 sped away, exiting on Riverside Avenue after traveling east on the Interstate 10 Freeway.

The F150 sped south on Riverside, crashing into a tractor-trailer turning north onto Riverside after running a red light at Slover.

Juan B., 38, the driver, was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Rialto Fire Department.

Two unharmed French bulldogs were removed from the F150 by officers.

The Rialto Police Department handled the traffic accident investigation.

Brizuela was taken to the West Valley Detention Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Romero, the suspect will be booked at West Valley Detention Center after being released due to two outstanding warrants from L.A. County and Imperial County and three open felony charges.

According to Romero, no civilians or officers were injured, and no city property was damaged.
