[03-28-2022] Stanislaus County, CA - One Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Near ModestoThe California Highway Patrol is investigating after a man was found dead in a hit-and-run accident on Monday, March 28, 2022.

The police received a call around 5:45 a.m. about a man on the south shoulder of East Hatch Road, just west of Church Lane, who was only described as a pedestrian.

According to authorities, the man was struck by a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. While police are still determining the exact time of the collision, they do know that it occurred on East Hatch Road near Church Lane and that the driver then fled.

The exact circumstances of what occurred and when they occurred are still being investigated.

The make/model of the vehicle and the direction it went after the crash are still being investigated by police.
