[03-30-2023] San Diego County, CA – One Killed, Two Injured After Three-Car Collision in Carlsbad

A multi-vehicle collision fatally struck one person and injured two in Carlsbad on Thursday morning, March 30, 2023.

According to reports, the crash transpired around 6:45 a.m. in the 2700 block of Faraday Avenue.

Authorities stated that an eastbound Mazda MX-5 slid across a rain-slick stretch of road at high speed. The vehicle veered onto the westbound side of the street, colliding with a Honda Accord and a Toyota Corolla before bursting into flames.

Due to the impact, the Mazda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other motorists were transported to hospitals.

The unidentified Mazda driver died at the scene of the accident. The other two motorists were transported to hospitals for further treatment. The severity of their injuries remains unclear.
Investigations into the collisions are still underway.
