One person was injured in a three-vehicle collision on Interstate 215 in Riverside, forcing the southbound side of the freeway to close partially on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

[03-31-2022] Riverside County, CA - One Person Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Three Cars on Interstate 215According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 11:40 a.m. in the fast lane of southbound I-215, just north of Blaine Street.

According to the CHP, a Tesla, a Toyota Tacoma pickup, and a Toyota Sienna SUV were involved, though the circumstances were unknown.

According to the CHP, the vehicles came to a halt in the No. 1 and HOV lanes, leaving three lanes open. According to reports from the scene, two of the vehicles were severely damaged.

A SigAlert was issued at 11:50 a.m. due to the resulting traffic jam at the location.

Paramedics from the Riverside Fire Department arrived ten minutes later and discovered one motorist with minor to moderate injuries.

The unidentified individual was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
