[04-01-2022] One Man Found Dead Hours Later Following Hit-and-Run Crash in Van NuysAccording to police, a man struck by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday, March 31, 2022, was found dead near an apartment complex in Van Nuys on Friday morning, April 1, 2022.

The crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. Thursday near Victory Boulevard and Kester Avenue.

According to the LAPD, the man refused help from others after being struck by the hit-and-run driver.

According to police, the man then got up and walked through an alley, and responding officers were unable to locate the crash victim.

A few hours later, the police were called to a report of a man not breathing and lying out in front of an apartment complex near Victory and Nobel Avenue at 6:45 a.m.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

He matched the description of the hit-and-run victim from the night before, according to police.

Detectives combed the area for surveillance footage.

The suspect vehicle’s description was not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
