[04-01-2023] Butte County, CA – Elderly Woman Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Oroville

A woman in her 60s was fatally struck after a pedestrian crash in Oroville on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

The deadly collision reportedly occurred at night between eastbound Nelson and 2nd streets.

Authorities stated that the pedestrian was crossing when she was struck by a 2006 Saturn who could not stop in time. Responders immediately transported the victim to the hospital, and it was later confirmed that the victim succumbed to her injuries.

According to investigations, drugs, and alcohol are not considered to have played a factor in this incident, and the driver remained on the scene at the time of the crash.

The victim’s identity has not been disclosed pending notification of her next of kin.
