[04-01-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – 4-Month-Old Boy Killed in Semi-Truck vs. Vehicle Crash near Stateline

A 4-month-old boy was killed and an adult was injured following a collision between a vehicle and a semi-tractor trailer in San Bernardino County on Saturday night, April 01, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 10:06 p.m. on southbound Interstate 15, about a mile before the Yates Well Road exit, near Stateline.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash site where the semi-car hauler overturned, causing multiple vehicles on the trailer to fall off and catch fire. The vehicle involved in the crash, a Chevrolet Malibu sedan, was also fully engulfed in flames.

Both vehicles reportedly traveled on the highway’s southbound side when colliding off the road. At this point, the exact circumstances that led to the collision are unknown.

A 4-month-old boy was killed inside the burning vehicle. One person sustained unspecified injuries and was taken to St. Rose Hospital in an unknown state. Neither was identified.

All lanes were reopened the following morning at 9:00 a.m. There wasn’t much further information at this point as the investigation continued.
