A 3-year-old girl was seriously injured after getting attacked by a pit bull at a home she was visiting in East Hemet on Saturday afternoon, April 2, 2022.

The young girl wandered into the property’s backyard when the 20year-old pit bull suddenly attacked her. The pit bull was chained up before the incident.

The pit bull reportedly jumped on the small girl and bit her face, arms, and abdomen. The occupants in the house rushed to the scene and immediately stopped the attack.

The young girl was rushed to the Inland Empire trauma center, where she received nearly 200 stitches to close the bite wounds.

The dog was brought to Jurupa Valley’s Western Riverside County Animal Shelter. The dog will be euthanized if the owner does not object to the impoundment within the next week.
