One person was killed, and another one was injured in a rollover crash in Mission Bay late Monday, April 4, 2022.

[04-04-2022] San Diego County CA - One Dead and Another Injured in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Mission BayAccording to San Diego Police Officer John B., officers were dispatched to the 1900 West Mission Bay Drive area near Sea World Drive around 10:30 p.m. after a vehicle collided with a female pedestrian.

According to police, the woman walked into oncoming traffic in the middle of the block and was nearly hit by one vehicle, which swerved and missed her.

A second vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old girl, then struck the pedestrian, killing her. Authorities have withheld her name.

Following the crash, the teen’s car overturned on West Mission Bay Drive, striking the center median.

Buttle said she was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Few other details were available, but Buttle said DUI was not a factor.

The crash is being investigated by the SDPD’s Traffic Division.
